In short, Mead is honey and water fermented by yeast. It can be flavoured with fruits, spices, grains and hops. Ours is sparkling, light, refreshing and sits in a dry to semi-sweet space - not as sweet as I bet you first imagined!.

There's no artificial colours. No artificial flavours and although we brew in a brewery that handles barley and wheat, we use nothing containing gluten! 

Nothing other than honey, yeast and water. (Until we start playing with New Zealand grown botanicals, herbs, spices and fruits that is...)

What does it taste like?

The professionals reckon that Borage and Bee Dry Session Mead has "Delicate, honeyed and lightly floral with notes of red appleskin, borage and herbaceous mānuka. It has bright citrus acidity with ripe pome fruit flavours, a refreshingly crisp, dry finish and faint honey sweetness on the aftertaste." Our semi-sweet mead is similar but with greater sweetness and a flavour punch!
